Station Road
Street guide, Wickham
Station Road takes its name from the former Wickham railway station, which closed in 1955 when the Meon Valley Railway was shut. The road runs south from the village centre, connecting to the routes towards Fareham. The former railway line has been converted into the Meon Valley Trail, a traffic-free walking and cycling path that can be accessed from Station Road. The housing along the road is a mix of periods, with some properties that predate the railway's closure and more modern additions. Station Road is residential in character and carries local traffic. The connection to the Meon Valley Trail makes it a useful starting point for walkers and cyclists heading north towards West Meon or south towards Knowle.
