Southwick Road
Street guide, Wickham
Southwick Road leads south-west from the village towards Southwick and the Portsdown Hill area. The road passes through open countryside almost immediately after leaving the village, with fields and hedgerows on both sides. There are a few scattered properties along the road, some of them substantial houses in rural settings. The road is used by local traffic and by those heading towards the A32 and the routes south towards Fareham and Portsmouth. Southwick Road connects to footpaths along the River Meon and through the surrounding farmland. The road has a rural character that contrasts with the tighter streets of the village centre, and the views across the Meon valley from the higher ground are attractive.
