The Buddens area lies to the east and south-east of the village centre, taking its name from Buddens Road which serves a cluster of residential development on this side of Wickham. The housing here is largely twentieth century, with a mix of detached and semi-detached houses and some bungalows set along curving roads with gardens and driveways. The area has a settled, suburban quality that contrasts with the older streets around The Square. Buddens Road connects to the lanes heading towards Knowle and the countryside east of the village.
